Italy enforces strict fire-safety regulations for hospitality environments.
Any upholstered items used in hotels, resorts, or accommodation facilities with over 25 beds must comply with Class 1IM certification, as required by local law (Ministerial Decree 26 June 1984, updated by DM 3 September 2001 and DM 14 October 2022).
This certification is mandatory to obtain approval for occupancy and applies to beds, sofas, armchairs, pouffes, benches, and other soft furnishings.
