Hotel furniture: 5 styles to inspire your designs

Aesthetic choices give life to the identity of a luxury hotel. Every space - from the lobby to the suites, from the restaurant to the relaxation rooms - tells a story. Choosing the right hotel furniture therefore plays an important role in conveying emotions, values and personality. Architects and interior designers play a key role in this creative process: turning a concept into reality. They have to find the right balance between aesthetics, functionality and personalisation. Tosconova's mission is to provide them with our furniture elements and complements. Thanks to our design approach and attention to detail, we can reinterpret any style. In this article, we will analyse five examples of hotel furniture design as a source of inspiration.

Timeless furnishings

The Timeless style is characterised by sophisticated and luxurious interiors. Intense colour contrasts, precious materials and dramatic details create a unique atmosphere.

Case study and timeless style ideas

S+S Studio has taken on the project of restyling the Presidential Suite of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, in Viareggio. It chose Tosconova as its partner for the realisation of the furniture. This is a historic Art Nouveau palace, born as a home of Italian luxury and timeless elegance. In creating the furnishings, we listened carefully to the creative vision of the architects and translated it into exclusive furniture.

White, black and gold dominate, while velvets and sophisticated patterns add tailored elegance. Mirrors and gilded finishes reflect the light and transform the space into an iconic, immersive experience.

Classic furniture

Furnishing a space always interacts with the architecture and context. Architects and interior designers know this well: every project requires a balance between style and ambience. Classic taste is synonymous with elegance and value. Every element radiates timeless beauty.

A perfect example of this harmony is the Grand Hotel Baglioni in the heart of Florence. A historic location where you can admire a beautiful coffered ceiling from the period. Architect Patrizia Monaco chose us to customize several pieces of furniture for the hotel.

The bespoke furniture features soft-touch fabrics and shades reminiscent of the past. The structures of the furniture, such as the upholstered headboard of the bed, add character to the rooms while maintaining an understated elegance.

Contemporary furniture

Contemporary furniture is characterised by clean forms and essential lines. Spaces are harmonious and materials are refined.

Case study and contemporary style ideas

As a case study of a possible interpretation of contemporary style, we have chosen the collaboration with the owners of the Tornabuoni Suites Collection. The completely renovated suites are located on the upper floors of the Palazzo Alamanni in Florence.

The carefully selected furniture is made of precious Canaletto walnut. The warm, natural tones create the perfect atmosphere for a stay with a Florentine flavour. Each room exudes a strong personality and attention to detail.

Vintage furniture

When it comes to vintage style, we wanted to make an exception and present a different case study, one that is not about luxury hotels, but is still an example of furniture to be inspired by. The curved lines, the materials used and the colours chosen take us back in time.

Some places have extraordinary stories to tell. Just like the Tuscan vineyards and virgin forest on which Le Tenute del Cerro stands. We worked in partnership with B-sign architects in Florence, tasked of rethinking the cellar spaces.

The undisputed star of this project is nature, which inspired the colours and materials of the furniture. The deep green of the leaves, the wine red and the yellow of the sun ripening the grapes are the colours chosen for the chairs. Each element invites you to sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of wine.

Coastal furniture

The coastal style is a perfect match for design projects for hotels overlooking the sea. The colour palette includes natural tones such as sand, white and light blue. Even the materials become light such as linen, raffia and walnut wood in its natural colouring.

Following Arch. Rino Gambardella’s creative project, we had the pleasure of furnishing the 5-star hotel Borgo Santandrea on the Amalfi Coast, in Italy.

Each piece is exclusive and important, thanks to customisation down to the smallest detail. The result is furniture with a soul that speaks to guests, in perfect harmony with the surrounding architecture and landscape.

Realise your design project

In this article, we’ve explored five different styles of furniture, each interpreted at its best. The quality of our products and the passion with which we make them is the common theme running through these case studies.
